Welcome to Senkly. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have. It applies to the Senkly website (senkly.app) and the Senkly mobile application.

By using Senkly, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Waitlist: When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. We also temporarily process your IP address for rate-limiting purposes; this is not stored permanently.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.

Location data: If you enable location sharing, we collect your GPS location to share it with your partner in real time. You can disable this at any time in the app settings.

Mood data: When you log your mood, we store the mood entry you select so your partner can see it.

Shared lists: Any content you add to shared lists (e.g., groceries, travel plans) is stored so both partners can access it.

Payment information: If you purchase Sparks or other in-app content, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full payment card details.

Push notification tokens: If you enable push notifications, we collect your device token to send you notifications.

Device and usage data: We may collect basic device information (operating system, app version) and anonymous usage analytics to improve the service.

We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

Consent: You provide consent when joining the waitlist or enabling optional features like location sharing and push notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Contract: Processing your account data and shared content is necessary to provide the Senkly service to you.

Legitimate interest: We process limited technical data (e.g., IP-based rate limiting, anonymous analytics) to maintain security and improve the service.

We use your data to: provide and maintain the Senkly service; send you waitlist confirmation and launch notifications; share your location, mood, and lists with your partner; process in-app purchases; send push notifications you have opted into; improve the service through anonymous analytics; prevent abuse and ensure security.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited cases:

With your partner: Location, mood, and shared list data is visible to your connected partner within the app.

Service providers: We use Resend to send emails and a third-party payment processor for transactions. These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are bound by data processing agreements.

Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Senkly and its users.

Waitlist emails are retained until the waitlist is no longer needed or you request deletion. Account data and shared content are retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict processing of your data; data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format); object to processing based on legitimate interest; withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

The Senkly website uses a locale preference cookie to remember your language selection. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregated website analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Senkly is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@senkly.app and we will delete it promptly.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your data may be processed by service providers located outside the EEA. In such cases, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Senkly after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
